The National Curriculum is divided into Key Stages:

Early Years Foundation Stage The Early Years Foundation Stage has a separate curriculum covering ages 3 to the end of reception.

Key Stage 1 This covers Years 1 and 2. Children at Key Stage 1 follow the National Curriculum and during Year 2 children are assesed using a combination of teacher assessment and tasks and tests to give an overall Key Stage 1 SATS level.

Key Stage 2 This cover Years 3,4,5 and 6. Children at Key Stage follow the National Curriculum and at the end of the Key Stage take their second set of SATS.

SATS = Standard Assessment Tests.

These are the key life skills we are seeking to develop at our school.  If a child demonstrates each of these attitudes to learning on 4 separate occasions they will receive our “Successful Learner” award in Celebration assembly.
